Today’s blog highlights a wonderful baby shower for Megan and Bryan!! Congrats to this happy and wonderful couple. This baby shower was organized at Megan’s work who wishes this couple well in their new parenting experience. “Oh baby” is the perfect saying that can mean so much in many ways!!! From the new baby smell to the sleepless nights to the endless hugs, a baby is a blessing. Enjoy parenthood that doesn’t come with a manual just a bunch of parenting books!!

Thanks for the kind words!! Brainstorming cookie ideas is always fun, but when we get to see the faces of these kids, it’s just very satisfying and rewarding. An order is just a paper yet seeing these happy faces, brings the paper to life!! Shelley, you made our day with these photos!

Being on a team sport or in a club is very important for development, leadership, and sportsmanship. I’m sure all these KML kids worked very hard this season and their parents must be proud.

Cross Country builds endurance, skills and friendships

This blog focuses on the Grace Lutheran School Menomonee Falls Cross Country Team, 33 3rd-8th graders that ran cross country. There were approx 6 meets from Sept-Oct ranging from 1.5-2.0 miles.

On October 8th there was a State Meet at Concordia in Mequon. Runners were given Spirit Grams consisting of a Mila's cookie, Fruit by the Foot and Jolly Ranchers along with a note from their parents wishing them well.

They have the best cookies around and amazing customer service. They are always friendly and timely when I order cookies over the phone or email. They went the extra mile by putting a personalized message on the label of the cookie as well. I have recommended them to many friends and family and they've all had similar positive experiences. I like using a hometown baker and always know they'll go the extra mile to get the cookies done if short notice or if I have a new design for them to try out. The kids loved the cookies!!

Trick or Treat

Thankful for the many smiling faces that stopped in for Trick or Treat. We loved all the costumes and handing out treats!

CARiNG IS OZAUKEE FAMILY SERVICES

Ozaukee family services had an open house on September 15th. We preordered several dozen cookies as we know they are delicious and everyone loves a Mila's almond cookie:) They pre-wrapped all the cookies which included our logo on front with information about our programs on the bag. The story should have ended here... but it does not. We heard that additional people were coming to our event and we were going to need more cookies! I sheepishly called Anna thinking this was not a possibility on such short notice... but Anna calmly said "no problem!" We were floored!! She and her magic staff made it happen. There was not one single cookie left. Not one! Thank you , thank you Mila's for a wonderful experience and delicious cookies! We'll be back again and again and again!!

Happy 50th Birthday Brian!!

Today’s blog highlights a milestone in life that needs to be celebrated!! I hear that 50 is the new 20!! Maybe not, but it sounds good:)

Brian turned 50 this past weekend and had a wonderful surprise party that was very well planned.

This is a very fun and easy theme to celebrate. Cheers to 50 years. That’s the motto!!

Let’s Celebrate Homecoming 2022

October 3rd was a big Homecoming 2022 celebration for many schools with lots of activities, fun and memories made. There were so many wonderful photos from many schools on social media of all the kids dressed in themed costumes before the dinner and dance. Such a great evening for this event.

This blog highlights high school seniors who celebrated their last and final HOCO of their 4 years. Mila’s made these special cookies to personalize this 2022 HOCO Dance. I have seen these kindergartners grow up into seniors and ready to fly the nest next year.

This blog is very special because my son is a high school senior who enjoyed the weeklong festivities and the dance. Also, there was a special announcement of all the seniors before a home soccer game. Yes, there were Mila’s cookies to highlight the event.

BIRTHDAYS ARE FUN FOR KIDS

Another year has flown by and this year my kids were after the Super Mario theme. My cousin, Annie suggested that we go with Mila’s for their cakes this year and boy did they not disappoint. My daughter wanted Princess Peach (marble cake with chocolate raspberry filling) and my son, Super Mario (chocolate with mint filling). The cake presentation was on point with how delicious the cake tasted. Mila’s did a wonderful job and were extremely easy and relaxing to work with. If you haven’t stopped in to see them for a while, I highly suggest you do. Their cakes are delicious among their other goodies.

Thanks for the kind words about Mila’s!! Birthdays are fun for kids with theme parties, cakes, presents, and friends. Kids should enjoy this time while parents should help their kids celebrate this occasion. Kids look forward to birthdays while adults want to count backwards to be younger:)

It's Back-to-School time!!

School is back, and so are our back-to-school cookies, cakes, image cookies, and gift boxes for students of all ages. The cookie gift boxes are great for teachers in the beginning of the year and for Teacher’s Appreciation Week which is coming up. On September 2, Mila’s was featured on CBS with a great variety of treats to kick off the school year. It was wonderful to share these ideas with viewers.

Thanks to those who saw us live during the morning as well as those that viewed it via Facebook, the CBS website and Instagram. it was a great segment!!

As I’m writing this blog, we are already a few weeks into the year. Everything is still new and fresh before the warm weather becomes cold and the reality of school sets in. The school year starts off slow, yet is over in a blink of an eye. From fun grade-level cookies to high school graduates edible image cookies, we are here for every step of the way. Your journey is our journey too.

Good Luck to Sage- Miss Teen Wisconsin USA

Today’s blog features desserts for a surprise send off party for Sage Gundelly, Miss Wisconsin Teen USA 2022. She will head off to compete at Nationals to represent Wisconsin.

Mila’s European Bakery s very touched to make a special cake, cupcakes, and personalized crown cookies for Sage!!

When Sage’s father called to place the order, he we was very detailed and specific. He sent photos and even a color chart to be exact. The sash on the cake needed to be similar to the sash Sage wore and each cookie had to have a girl’s name on it so that they would feel part of the special send of party. This attention to detail really demonstrated his love for Sage in creating the perfect dessert. This had to be PERFECT for Sage!! We all understood the importance of the order.

When competition was tough, Sage didn’t give up, but persevered to win the title of Miss Teen Wisconsin USA 2022. Now she is off without her parents or friends to Nationals for more competition. What an amazing and motivational young lady with such a bright future. She a beautiful, talented, and hard-working teen.

A Tribute to Life of Jacqueline Slater

At Mila’s, we share many wonderful milestones from weddings, to showers, and to birthdays with our customers;however, we also make desserts for funerals. I’d rather write about happy events, but funerals are a part of life’s memory.

Today’s blog is about a tribute to the memory of Jacqueline Slater.

Kari Slater came to Mila’s to order personalized and special cookies for the funeral of her mother-in-law. Since her mother-in-law enjoyed quilting, we both wanted an image to represent her hobby love. Kari provided Mila’s a JPG of a quilt which we printed on the cookies. We also added a personal message on the individual package.

Let's Celebrate!!

This week’s blog is about a new small business called Let’s Celebrate! We all love to celebrate, regardless of age:)

Let's Celebrate, LLC held an open house on Saturday, August 20, 2022. Let's Celebrate is a new small business to the Mequon/Thiensville area. Located on the river level in the Riversite, they are bringing a new way to celebrate birthdays and other life celebrations. They offer traditional event planning, at home sleepover tent parties and now a new party studio in Mequon where they can host parties for all celebrations! They served Mila's cookies with a logo on it at their open house.

Their sleepover tent parties can be paired with Mila's cookies. Either decorated to the tent theme or the birthday guests' names.

Cream Cheese Almond Cookie Monster

I’m the Cookie Monster Lady who’s in love with Mila’s BEST cookie ever! It’s my FAVORITE almond cream cheese cutout cookie that is decorated in fun shapes, colors and sayings. I even have a pink, sparkly crown 👑 cookie (almond cream cheese, of course) that I just cannot eat because I wear it on my head sometimes!!! You’ll never know how yummy these cookies are until you run on over to Mila’s Bakery and eat these de almond cream cheese cookies for breakfast, lunch, dinner and many snacks! !YUM!

This blog highlights a beautiful couple that tied the knot this weekend in Door County among family and friends.

Kayla and Scott share many interests such as the love for hiking, running, and their dog. Most importantly, they agree that each one brings out the best in the other.

Delighted and grateful, Kayla explained how “Mila’s brought joy and delicious wedding cookies to each and every one of our guests on such an important day of our lives. We were beyond thrilled with these delectable little cookies and the beautiful decoration they had paying homage to our wedding day. Thank you so much Mila’s! We love you!!”

I was honored to attend this beautiful wedding day and see Mila’s wedding cookies being shared with all the guests. I will always remember this special day! Brainstorming on the perfect wedding cookie and design was memorable and extremely exciting. With the assistance of both Kayla and Scott, the cookie creation was developed. They wanted the perfect cookie to share with their guests as they headed home after the reception. Each cookie had a personal message: “Thank you for coming! Love Scott and Kayla.” Everything was personalized with love like the beautiful smiles from the bride and groom holding up Mila’s cookies.

Turning one is so fun. Parents get to pick different themes, decorations and everything for their one year-old. The baby doesn’t really care or understand, but the parents really enjoy this milestone.
