Everybody loves Mila’s!!

My family and I highly enjoyed these marble with chocolate frosting Mila's cakes! One had buttercream filling for my 46th birthday and the other had strawberry filling for my mom's 70th birthday. The cakes hardly made it through the night they were so good! (Usually we have some left for a few days.) Great job Mila's! We'll be back for my daughter's 26th birthday this weekend :') Thank you for being fabulous. Qiana Ramsey

Let’s party like it’s 1988

The wedding season is in full bloom with brides searching for the perfect everything!!! The “I DO” is the easy part, but planning the venue, picking out decoration, deciding on the music and other details can be stressful. I just stressed myself out describing the details and had flashbacks in my head of my wedding 22 years ago.

Instead, let’s take a walk back to memory lane in 1988 when Lori and her mom came to Mila’s to inquire about a wedding cake.

“I could smell the wonderful bakery aroma as soon as we entered. Mila told us about all of the different types of cakes and flavors and we came up with this tiered cake design and size to accommodate size of wedding. I showed her the cake topper (🙄very 80s I guess) that would be used.

Growing up in Mequon and being very familiar with the Thiensville area. We knew that was the bakery was the place to go to. It may also be because my parents were also immigrants from West Germany in the 50s. Having a taste of a European bakery would be the best. My Tante Hilde , and Onkel Helmut came from Germany for the wedding as well .” Lori reminisced.

Thanks Lori for sharing these photos and kind words. It is so heartwarming to hear customers share memories when Mila and Mark ran the business. Their love and kindness is still remembered after all these years. #sayitwithmilas is a perfect 2023 hashtag. I don’t think hashtags existed in 1988, but say it with Mila’s still continues!!!

Today in 2023, brides are having tiered cakes with sheet cakes to be cut for the guests. Times are changing and Mila’s European Bakery is here for your wedding needs. Mila’s wants the day to be perfect! We can’t control all the other details except the perfect sweet table, cookies and wedding cake. You can count on us!!!

Let’s Celebrate Homecoming 2022

October 3rd was a big Homecoming 2022 celebration for many schools with lots of activities, fun and memories made. There were so many wonderful photos from many schools on social media of all the kids dressed in themed costumes before the dinner and dance. Such a great evening for this event.

This blog highlights high school seniors who celebrated their last and final HOCO of their 4 years. Mila’s made these special cookies to personalize this 2022 HOCO Dance. I have seen these kindergartners grow up into seniors and ready to fly the nest next year.

This blog is very special because my son is a high school senior who enjoyed the weeklong festivities and the dance. Also, there was a special announcement of all the seniors before a home soccer game. Yes, there were Mila’s cookies to highlight the event.

BIRTHDAYS ARE FUN FOR KIDS

Another year has flown by and this year my kids were after the Super Mario theme. My cousin, Annie suggested that we go with Mila’s for their cakes this year and boy did they not disappoint. My daughter wanted Princess Peach (marble cake with chocolate raspberry filling) and my son, Super Mario (chocolate with mint filling). The cake presentation was on point with how delicious the cake tasted. Mila’s did a wonderful job and were extremely easy and relaxing to work with. If you haven’t stopped in to see them for a while, I highly suggest you do. Their cakes are delicious among their other goodies.

Thanks for the kind words about Mila’s!! Birthdays are fun for kids with theme parties, cakes, presents, and friends. Kids should enjoy this time while parents should help their kids celebrate this occasion. Kids look forward to birthdays while adults want to count backwards to be younger:)

Lights, Camera and Action!! 3-2-1- it's showtime!!

Today's blog highlights the amazing Homestead High School's production of Cinderella. It takes numerous hours of rehearsal time, commitment and love for the arts to put on on a musical. From actors, to stage crew, to pit orchestra to much much more, a theater family is formed with one goal of creating the best HHS musical. Mila’s has been a proud supporter of the HHS Drama Club for many years with logo image cookies. Lasting memories were formed and Mila’s contributed to this special musical. Thanks for allowing Mila’s to be a part of this Winter 2022 Musical.

Mila’s Cream Cheese Almond Cookies are always the best!

According to Julie Willis, a HHS Drama Club Parent, “Mila’s European Bakery stepped up with another amazing donation for this year’s musical. They made the most delicious cookies to sell in the lobby. They were beautiful and expertly decorated for Cinderella. Generous donors like Mila’s help support and keep our Homestead drama department able to do wonderful productions.”

It’s fun to be one!! Today, we are featuring a celebration for twins turning 1!!!

We just made a baby shower cake and cookies and now fast-forward one year—- it’s birthday time!! Wow, that was fast. Thanks for letting Mila’s be a part of this wonderful birthday party and memory. We love traditions!
